Beautiful and unusual pair of early 20thC Continental brass and marble candlesticks, each with three specimen hardstone beetles / insects to base.
The beetles are quite special, being made of lots of different types of polished stone including turquoise, onyx and marble.
One of the pieces of marble has a crack in it but is still rigid. Other than that, the candle holders are in good condition.
