
Beautiful antique Indian gilt bronze aftaba ewer.
Dating to the Mughal period during the late 19th century. It has a long pouring spout, hinged lid and is decorated with floral design. The aftaba has Persian influence and is likely from the northern regions of India that were under islamic control during the time of its manufacture.
Originally it would have been used for pouring water for cleaning hands and feet.
