Leica IIIa 35mm rangefinder camera in excellent working condition. With 50mm Summitar F2 Lens, also in excellent condition with no scratches mould or fungus to be seen. Working well at all speeds, rangefinder is accurate and clear, curtain in excellent condition. Only very minor signs of wear here and there. A nice example of this early leica in good, working condition capable of taking great photos, particularly portraits with the beautiful "stippled" bokeh from the coated 10 blade summitar. Comes with original brown leather case. // The Leica IIIa, or Leica IIIa (G), is a 35mm rangefinder camera introduced by Leica in 1935 as an upgraded Leica III, adding a 1/1000s shutter speed. The main feature of the Leica IIIa is the shutter speed range from T (shutter remains open), 1 second, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 and 1/20 on the front dial; 1/40, 1/60, 1/100, 1/200, 1/500, 1/1000 and Z (shutter remains open while release button is depressed) on the top dial. The Leica IIIa was made only in chrome finish. Black Leica IIIa's are earlier black cameras upgraded to IIIa in the Leica factory.
