Murphy British made portable vintage mains/dry battery valve radio, an interesting very solidly built set from the 1950s before the advent of transistor portables Model BA 228 Mains or Battery operation The set is in very nice condition with a clean chassis which looks complete with all original Mazda valves present MW/LW The attractive rexine covered wooden case with Bakelite sides has a lift up Bakelite flap which when closed conceals the control knobs and speaker grille, this is a most unusual feature, the tuning scale is attached to the underside of this flap and is visible when it is hinged fully upwards. The case is in very nice condition with very few age related marks
The radio doesn't have a cord and hasn't been tested so I don't know if it is working but it looks great displayed on a shelve.
