The Philips BX373A is known as “Compass”. This nickname refers to the round tuning dial with a pointer that resembles a compass needle. The pointer is mounted on the shaft of tuning capacitor. Housed in a neatly designed Philite (Bakelite) case, it is one of the most wanted Philips models among collectors.
Unfortunately there is a bit of a crack to the top of bakelite that you can see in the photos but it isn't obvious when the radio is displayed on a shelf. The back is also missing.
A beautiful example of 1940's design that looks great displayed on a shelve. The radio is untested and would require some re-wiring if it was intended to be used.
